Wednesday

My day to day experience with SBI

It was a great day when my friend called me saying my roll no appearing in the final selected candidates list.
After a month or so I got a provisional letter asking me to report State Bank of Patiala HO, Patiala for fulfilling pre-appointment formalities like medical, domicile etc. And the next day I got confirmation for my first branch of State Bank of Patiala (Associate bank of SBI) in Hisar which is my home city itself.

I got my Formal Appointment letter in which it was written that the first year of my job will be for training comprising institutional training and on the job training. My institutional training was postponed for a while as bank was requiring officers immediately.

  24. The best thing we can do is to read more and more newspaper editorials (best is The Hindu). Other thing in the last hours is to solve at least one mock daily with strict timing. see performance and track yourself to judge the timing given for each section.

  25. Can I take sabbatical (baby care) leave of 2 years during my probation period. I am working as a clerk in ubi.

    ReplyDelete
  26. In State Bank Group, the option of Sabbatical Leave is given to Women officers. In Bank of India, it is also there for women officers. In clerical cadre, you please ask your HR Dept. for the same.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Generally all women employees are given option of 2 years sabbatical leave viz. they are officers, clerical etc. But it actually depends on the particular Bank's policy.

  28. Hello Sir!!! I am a PO working with Bank of Baroda. Although I have no regrets working with a bank when I am a BTech and people keep telling me that this is not where I should be, I am concerned about my future career. Do certifications like CISA, CIA help in career progression in a bank???

    ReplyDelete
  29. Hello Dear,
Of course the courses Certified Information System Auditor (CISA) or CIA are always a good career maker in the bank. But these are generally for specialist cadre entrant. If you have entered in specialist cadre, then it is good. If you are in general cadre, you have to show yourself a good candidate to be in for systems.

    I'm from vijayawada,Andhra Pradesh.

  31. Its not quite sure. In State Bank of India, it depends on the circle you will get.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Scale III officer gets Rs.3000/- less than a Group 'A' entry level officer in Central Govt. with added burden of stress, work load, more risk, no social life, and poorly managed sector and govt. caring least for the sector..i will suggest never join a banking career as a long term option, u will 100% repent after few years down the line when you will neither be able to leave or join a new jib, moreover with the passing age u will always be expected to work like a young donkey, leaving your family life and facing adverse haelth conditions and unwelcomed harshness of life.... So never join a bank job, It's worstttt
